CMAC CONFERENCE 2022 – NEW FRONTIERS: 19 & 20 NOVEMBER 2022 43 42 CMAC.WORLD Avoiding complications with neuromodulator in the upper third – Jake Sloane MD Diagnosis and management of eye-lid ptosis – Brittony Croasdell, MS, FNP-BC, APRN, CANS SUNDAY—11:40 SUNDAY—11:55 There is a long list of recognised complications that relate to using toxins in the upper face. Thankfully, the most serious of these are extremely rare. The more common and debilitating issues can be largely predicted and avoided with a systematic and repeatable patient assessment. The use of check lists and consistent clinical photography can hugely improve an injector’s ability to highlight any anatomical pre-cautions before using toxins. This process also helps educate patients why a particular treatment pattern was chosen, even if it contradicts their initial motivation for seeking a treatment. Lecture notes Assessment, diagnosis and correctly treat of four different cases of blepharoptosis. Measure marginal reflex distance (MRD) to determine the degree of correction required of pretarsal neuromodulator injections. Anatomical considerations when injecting neuromodulators. Case series of four patients, their individual assessment, treatment and outcome. Video on how to properly administer pretarsal injections to achieve the results shown in the previous cases.
