Astra Farmer sits on both our Specialist Advisory board and Clinical Support Team- Welcome!

She is an Independent Registered Nurse Prescriber and qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2012. Beginning her nursing career in cardiothoracic surgery at The Royal Stoke University Hospital in Cardiothoracic surgery, her real passion for Tissue Viability began and she became the Cardiothoracic Wound Specialist Nurse managing post operative wound complications.

Astra then went onto work for the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust where she worked as a surgical ward nurse on Plastics, Maxilla Facial and ENT.

In 2014 she became a Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist for South Devon and Torbay NHS Foundation trust, treating patients in the Acute hospital and Community setting. Astra also ran a weekly Tissue Viability clinic for complex wounds. Astra has taught wound management and pressure ulcer prevention to local Nursing homes, GP Practices and Community Nurses across Devon and has attended many Tissue Viability wound conferences within the UK and internationally.

Astra has been practising Medical Aesthetics since 2015, running a busy clinic in East Devon as well as co-owning a Medical Aesthetics training academy, Devon & Cornwall Aesthetics Academy. She is also an ambassador for Obagi Medical.

Astra has a real passion for correct tissue and wound management. She has advised and educated many Aesthetic practitioners regarding the correct treatment of wounds post vascular occlusion.
